What is Convergent Catholic?

Our theology, our commitments, and the convergence we are trying to live.

What Grounds Us

Sacramental Life

The mysteries are not symbols. They are how Christ keeps meeting us.

Apostolic Continuity

Our orders are real. Our bishops serve, they do not rule.

Spirit-Led Worship

We expect the Holy Spirit to show up. We make room.

A Real Welcome Table

The Table belongs to Christ. We do not stand at the door checking lists.

A Church That Refuses False Choices

For too long Christians have been told to pick a side. Ancient or alive. Sacramental or evangelical. Reverent or open to the Spirit. Faithful to tradition or welcoming to the wounded. We do not believe in those choices.

The Convergent Catholic Communion holds together what God never tore apart. Sacraments and Scripture. Liturgy and the Spirit. The old faith of the Church and the real lives of the people in front of us.

We are catholic in faith. We are connected by relationship, not bureaucracy. We are affirming of LGBTIA+ persons because the Gospel left us no other option. We are independent because conscience required it, not because we are bitter.

We are small on purpose. We grow slowly on purpose. We mean what we say.

Living Convergence

Pastoral letters, reflections, and writing from our bishops, clergy, and communities. Read what we are actually thinking about, in our own words.

The Convergent Lectionary

The Convergent Lectionary, is a working liturgical calendar drawn from East and West, ancient sources, and the wider canon. Approved by our General Assembly in 2024 and used across our communities for worship, preaching, and personal prayer.
The Lectionary is one of the ways we live our convergence. It teaches the whole story of salvation across the year and lets the saints of both East and West speak again in our common life.

Our Calendar is viewable below and here.

Come & See

You do not have to figure anything out before you reach out. Tell us your story. Ask the hard questions. Visit a community. Take your time.

We have no quotas to fill. We are not chasing you down. We are here when you are ready.
